Archibald's Swiss Cheese MountainArchibald's Swiss Cheese Mountain
by Sylvia Lieberman, illustrated by Jeremy Wendell
Winner of Best Children's Book at Hollywood Book Festival Competition 2008

Archibald's Swiss Cheese Mountain is a great book! No matter the age, one just has to love Archibald's positive attitude and focus on getting to the biggest piece of cheese he has ever seen. The young brave mouse schemes, plots and overcomes obstacles as he finally gets to the cheese--only to find himself in a somewhat scary predicament. He learns that independence comes with responsibility and that all the lessons his mother taught him did, indeed, have a purpose. The illustrations are colorful and bold, just like Archibald, and just like the writing style. It is a book one will love to read to a child, with many opportunities to act out the characters. This is a good time book for all.

Editors Nancy Reid and Lisa Smith interviewed author Sylvia Lieberman on our online radio show, Champagne Sundays, on November 2, 2008. To listen to the entire, unedited show, please click here. To listen to Sylvia's interview, please double click on the Play button below.

Our Mission: "Free Spirit Promotions (publisher of Big Blend Magazine) is a company based on the belief that education is the most formidable weapon that can be waged against fear, ignorance and prejudice. It is our belief that education starts at home and branches outward. Education leads to travel, and travel leads to understanding, tolerance, and appreciation of cultures and customs different to our own, and ultimately to world peace. Our company is further based on the principle that networking, communication, and helping others to promote and market themselves leads to financial stability; thus paving the way to better education, travel, and the spirit of giving back to the community."
