Stanley the Christmas Tree - A Wish Come True by R. E. HughesStanley the Christmas Tree - A Wish Come True
written by R. E. Hughes, illustrated by Anita Saunders
Children’s Book & CD

Every once and awhile, a chance for a new tradition comes along. Stanley the Christmas Tree may be just that. It is a superb Christmas story with heart and soul--just the kind of story that a child will want to hear again and again--and a parent will want to read to their child again and again. This is the stuff of which tradition is made.

Stanley is a small tree with a big wish. Wanting to grow straight and tall, he dreams of spending Christmas with a Special Family. Just when he thinks he has it made, the situation changes, and Stanley is left out in an alley with the trash cans on Christmas Eve. Although the trash cans admire his beauty, will his dream end there? This is a story that will evoke emotion from children and applause at the outcome. The message is clear, set your sights on a good dream, and don't give up. The illustrations are lively and have a warmth and honesty about them.

Editors Nancy Reid and Lisa Smith interviewed author R. E. Hughes on our online radio show, Champagne Sundays, on November 2, 2008. To listen to the entire, unedited show, please click here. To listen to R.E.'s interview, please double click on the Play Button below.

Our Mission: "Free Spirit Promotions (publisher of Big Blend Magazine) is a company based on the belief that education is the most formidable weapon that can be waged against fear, ignorance and prejudice. It is our belief that education starts at home and branches outward. Education leads to travel, and travel leads to understanding, tolerance, and appreciation of cultures and customs different to our own, and ultimately to world peace. Our company is further based on the principle that networking, communication, and helping others to promote and market themselves leads to financial stability; thus paving the way to better education, travel, and the spirit of giving back to the community."
