Our Mission:
"Free Spirit Promotions (publisher of Big Blend Magazine) is a company based on the belief that education is the most formidable weapon that can be waged against fear, ignorance and prejudice. It is our belief that education starts at home and branches outward. Education leads to travel, and travel leads to understanding, tolerance, and appreciation of cultures and customs different to our own, and ultimately to world peace. Our company is further based on the principle that networking, communication, and helping others to promote and market themselves leads to financial stability; thus paving the way to better education, travel, and the spirit of giving back to the community."

Harley-Davidson MemoriesHarley-Davidson Memories - The Golden Age of Motorcycling
Written by Bob Tyson, reviewed by Nancy J. Reid

Written by Bob Tyson, and published by Turner Publishing, ‘Harley-Davidson Memories - The Golden Age of Motorcycling,’ is a super collection of photos and memoirs that anyone interested in motorcycles and the history of biking would love to own. The collection is very personal featuring a scrapbook of road-trips, picnics and get-togethers that bring the early years of biking back to life. You can see riders gathering at an Enduro way back in the 1920s, see the advent of side cars, and read through Harley-Davidson ads that sing about freedom of the road while riding a Harley. Bob Tyson does a good job tracing the history of biking and in particular the development of Harley-Davidson. His passion for the sport is infectious and he brings the personality of the motorcycle enthusiast out through stories of their many daring escapades that you just have to admire.

The book is divided into 5 parts-covering: 1915 to 1930--Survival of the Fittest - a look at how and why the Harley-Davidson company outlasted all the others; Things to Do, Places to Go - a look at how the first bikers got their bikes and learned to care for them and ride them; Polo Anyone - a look at the personality of the first riders and how they pushed the riding envelope to include racing; The Good Old Days - a look at riding history from the wheel to the automobile; and Mail Order Motorcycling - what it was like to purchase a bike by mail order and the advertising campaigns of the Harley-Davidson company.
