About Ventura, California
Known as San Buenaventura, the "city of
good fortune", Ventura is a pleasant mix of a small coastal town,
history, shopping, wineries, dining and fun.
The waterfront district and beaches are
the shining jewel in Ventura's crown. Stretching from Seaside Park
to Ventura Harbor, the area's beachfront includes surf breaks, a
historic pier and promenade, San Buenaventura State Beach, the
Seaward Avenue Beach District, several parks, miles of scenic bike
paths, and a thriving marina.
Ventura Harbor Village is the heart of
coastal Ventura County. You can book cruises through the harbor or
to the Channel Islands, take sailing lessons, rent a peddle boat or
kayak, or simply enjoy a few hours by the sea.
The 36-horse carousel and arcade games are sure to delight the kids,
and the whole family will enjoy the art galleries, specialty shops,
café bakery, ice cream parlor and restaurants serving the freshest
locally caught seafood. Special weekend events at Harbor Village
include, weekend concerts and other scheduled events.

getaway, a nature lovers paradise, and the perfect family vacation
spot.
Attractions & Activities
Channel Islands National Park
- comprises five of the eight Channel Islands off the Southern
California coast: Anacapa, Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa, San Miguel, and,
Santa Barbara Island. Often referred to as the "American Galapagos"
because it is home to more than 2,000 species of plants and
animals-145 of which are unique to the islands and found nowhere
else on earth. Experts as well as tourists from around the world
visit the islands to observe nature in its most spectacular form.
The waters of the Channel are also teeming with life, including
dolphins, whales, seals, and thousands of sea birds.
